Sam Cooke became an Agent in 1999 and before starting CC&C in 2015 worked as an Associate Director of Tucker Gardner, running their Great Shelford sales office. Before that he was an Associate at Cheffins. He is a qualified member of the National Association of Estate Agents.
Sam's family can trace its Cambridge roots back over 500 years and he counts among his close relations a former Director of Cambridge United and former Mayor of the City. He grew up in Fulbourn and Stapleford and now lives in Trumpington with his wife and three smallish children.
When not selling houses he is a Governor of Trumpington Community College, a student of Taekwondo and an enthusiast of rusty old cars and cycles that he occasionally races. With no success.
Jamie Curtis started working as a Cambridge Estate Agent in 1992 and since then he has been responsible for the sale of thousands of properties locally.
His career began with a firm on Regent Street. He has also worked as an Associate at Cheffins too in their Cambridge, Haverhill and Saffron Walden offices and most recently as Associate Director of TuckerGardner running their Histon and then Cambridge City offices.
Jamie was born in Mill Road, Cambridge and started life in a little hamlet near Linton called Streetly End. After a spell in different parts of the country as a youth he returned home and now lives in Haslingfield with his wife, youngest son and Bertie the Shih Tzu. When he gets spare time he likes to grow, cook and eat things from the garden.
Lesley is responsible for day-to-day operation of the office and has spent most of the last 20 years working at a senior business management level within the recruitment sector, supporting both businesses within the City of London, Surrey & Cambridge.
Despite a highly successful career within recruitment, Lesley has always wanted to work within the property industry. You will not see Lesley out and about on viewings or valuations, however you are likely to speak with her on over the telephone on a day to day basis. Lesley's experience and presence in the office is what keeps everything running smoothly and like clockwork.
Born and raised in both London and Surrey, Lesley moved to Cambridge a little over 6 years ago, she is married to Jamie Curtis and together they have a young son George. Of Spanish descent, Lesley enjoys all things Spanish and has in the past even tried her hand at wine making with her father using grapes from their own Spanish vines.
Julia first started in estate agency in 1988 and for the last 15 years has gained experience at some of the leading agents in the city. She's therefore enormously experienced in these villages having dealt with many hundreds of sales in this area over the years.
Julia has come to work with us as she shares our view that the best estate agents are independent, local companies employing long-experienced, local people who want to do the job properly to build a long-term reputation.
Julia grew up in Sawston and lived there until a few years ago when, after her children finally left home, she moved to a thatched cottage in Weston Colville that she describes as a 'long-term project'. She now whiles away the evenings in front of the fire with Mr Bailey and spends the weekends marching round the local bridleways with their two faithful hounds.
Jenny joined Cooke Curtis & Co having previously worked for two other Cambridge estate agents and has more than 8 years' experience in selling properties in town and the surrounding villages. She grew up in Swaffham Bulbeck and now lives in Burwell. Sadly her childhood dream of marrying one of the members of Westlife never came true. Instead, as if to show her particular commitment to the industry, she is married to another Cambridge estate agent and they have recently purchased their new home together. As well as that band Jenny also lists her likes as Strictly Come Dancing and Norfolk.
Aimee first worked in lettings at the tender age of 18 while at University, working her way from Resident Coordinator to Halls of Residence Manager, before moving down to Cambridge in 2011. Working previously as a Property and Lettings Manager for a large portfolio she has vast experience in managing HMO's in the City.
As CC&C's Head of Lettings she is responsible for the management and smooth running of the department and deals with everything from finance and accounting, to short term lets, large country houses, property development and renovations. Aimee is a fearsome netball player and lives North West of Cambridge with Ruby the fox red Labrador.
Ian is one of Cambridge's most experienced local estate agents. He was born and raised here and started working in agency in the mid-90s on Regent Street. He opened his own firm in the early 2000s, eventually selling his share in the mid-2010s and then pursuing a career in land acquisition and new homes. But, though we occasionally try to deny it, estate agents are estate agents and Ian is now back doing what he's best at with CC&C. Ian lives in Over with his young family and spends his spare time hacking golf balls out of the rough.
Hayley started her career in property in her hometown of Calgary, Canada, building her own portfolio of popular rental properties on the back of the booming oil and gas sector. After working internationally in Japan and Andorra, Hayley now calls Cambridge her home after falling in love with the city. Beneath the professional work attire beats the heart of an outdoor enthusiast, a professional ski and snowboard instructor, and fearless mountaineer. Hayley lives in the heart of the City Centre, and although is currently dogless, hopes to one day have a pack all of her own.
Dominic joined us in 2018, leaving behind a position in estate agency down in Canterbury, close to where he grew up. We'd like to say it was CC&C's enviable national reputation that brought him to Cambridge, but it was something altogether more romantic than that. He's not new to the area though, having lived in Cambridge for 4 years during his degree. Dominic has recently bought his first house in Cottenham with his girlfriend Katie and is spending most of his spare time deciding which colour tones compliment the 46 inch flat screen tv. Dom owns a 1966 Sunbeam Alpine, just like the one that races the yellow Porsche in Commando, but he is too young to know what Commando is.
Ryan has worked as an inventory clerk and a letting agent both locally and internationally. He's one of those young people who impresses with maturity and knowledge beyond his years. Ryan does not have a dog, because he's always at the gym and the dog would get lonely.
If you decide to work with CC&C you will at some point probably receive a very efficient email from Dawn. She's in charge of making sure the office admin is all in check, which is fortunate because many of the rest of us need all the help we can get in this department. Dawn is a fan of horses.
Sophie Akers (pronounce it 'acres' if you wish to keep your teeth) became a Cambridge estate agent in 2014 . Like a number of other members of the CC&C family she is a proud alumni of Sawston Village College and is firmly rooted in South Cambridge. Sophie has a small pet that often sits quietly in the corner of the office. She says it is a dog, but to date has not provided compelling evidence.
Kirsty grew up in the centre of Cambridge and, though her youthful appearance may cause you not to believe it, has worked in property lettings in the city for more than 15 years.
When we let her have time off she and her young family are enthusiasts of the great outdoors and something of a family of Francophiles. She's also a serial house renovator / developer giving her first-hand understanding of the varied challenges of the property game.
