A detached three bedroom house with a garage and drive location off Cherry Hinton Road, conveniently located just a 10 minute bike ride to Addenbrooke's whilst a few minutes more gets you to the train station and the city centre. No onward chain

The rear garden has an enclosed paved terrace which leads to the lawn with flower and shrub beds on either side and a timber shed to the rear.

Cherry Hinton is a village within the city, what geographers might call the urban-rural fringe, which is perhaps the best of both worlds – local facilities within walking distance, the main city itself only a couple of miles away and countryside just as close.

At the time of writing the main village High Street has all you could need day-to-day – shops, a library, a local building society branch, pharmacy, GP surgery, barbers, takeaways, pub, post office – you get the idea. And on the village outskirts is a major Tesco supermarket for your big shop. Cambridge smartest private health club is in the village with its tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, spa and wellbeing centre, restaurant and other accoutrements.

There are two primary schools, with Netherhall secondary school less than half a mile out of the village.

Cherry Hinton Hall is a lovely riverside public park, full of mature trees and fun playgrounds and a summertime paddling pool that imprints on the childhood memories of anyone who grows up round here.

At the east edge of the village is a high-tech employment centre set around the historic Fulbourn Hospital site, known as Capital Park presumably because of all the capital that gets made there. The Addenbrooke’s Campus and associated biotech cleverness is about 1.5 miles away. Cambridge central station is 2.5 miles with the city centre beyond. All thoroughly cyclable if you’re not a fan of forming traffic jams.

Being on the south east edge of the city you can also very easily head out into the countryside, over Lime Kiln hill to the Gogs golf club, beechwoods the ancient Roman Road and Wandlebury beyond or towards Fulbourn and its nature reserve.

Call it Hairy Chinton and, should there be any doubt, you can easily prove to those around you how amusing you can be.
