A four bedroom semi-detached house with a pleasant, leafy rear outlook. Set well back from an established cul-de-sac off Bishops Road.
Lantree Crescent is a cul-de-sac of mostly four bedroom houses, very well positioned off Bishops Road with superb routes into Addenbrooke’s and the city and also out to the Park and Ride and M11. Its lack of passing car traffic and broad, open feel make it a very desirable location within Trumpington.
The house stands in an excellent position on the close, set well back and backing on to the leafy sidings of the guided busway.
The main living space is bright and open-plan with a large bow-window to the front and a window and door out to the rear garden. The kitchen also opens on to the garden and at the front of the house is a ground floor cloakroom. The hall and living space feature restored teak parquet flooring and there is the potential to fit a stove into the original fireplace.
The first floor provides four bedrooms, three of which have built-in cupboards, plus the bathroom.
There is a deep, lawned garden with a 12m / 40ft driveway leading to a carport at the side of the house and on to a single garage, so there is plenty of parking. The rear garden measures around 12.5m x 10m (40ft x 30ft) max and has a timber shed behind the garage. There is a pedestrian door into the garage and a gate on to the driveway for side access. The outlook at the rear is across mature trees and gardens.
Trumpington is a thriving, fast growing part of the city that still manages to retain its village identity and sense of community. It is exceptionally well located for access into the Addenbrooke’s campus, out to the M11 and into the city by car, bus, guided bus, one of a few purpose built cycle routes, or even an enthusiastic walk. The city’s mainline station can be easily reached along the guided busway cycleway without having to mix with car traffic at all.
The area has three primary schools and a brand new state-of-the-art secondary school built in 2016 with excellent sporting facilities. Many of the city’s finest private schools are within easy cycling distance. There are also various restaurants, pubs, shops, a post office, barber, GP surgery, pharmacy, library and community centre. There is a major Waitrose supermarket and a Sainsbury’s local.
Trumpington Meadows nature reserve links Trumpington through to Byron’s Pool and Grantchester and there is a second country park between Trumpington and the Addenbrooke’s campus. Various bridleways and footpaths lead immediately out into the countryside towards Harston, Haslingfield, Barton and Grantchester.
