A spacious and well presented, detached home, with a garden, double garage and off road parking. The property is conveniently located just a stones throw from Whittlesford Parkway station.
The property is ideal for the commuter and is located in a tucked away location yet is close to the station and the access to the A505.
There is a bright entrance hall with the staircase leading up to the first floor and a modern cloakroom off. The sitting room is lovely and bright, has a fireplace and is dual aspect with windows to the front and patio doors leading out to the rear garden. The owners currently use this as a sitting / dining room as there is plenty of room for both a seating area and a dining table and chairs and this frees up the formal dining room, which they prefer to use as a play room for their children.
The kitchen / breakfast room extends across the rear of the property and has views over the gardens; it is well fitted with matching floor and wall mounted cabinets and has an integrated dishwasher and space for a large range cooker; at the far end there is a breakfast bar and a door to the utility room which houses the washing machine and dryer. On the ground floor there is also a large conservatory with double doors out to the garden and a personal door opening to the garage.
On the first floor there is a spacious, galleried landing with a window providing lots of natural light over the staircase. There are four good bedrooms; a generous master with en-suite facilities and fitted wardrobes a further good double with fitted wardrobes and two more generous singles, one of which has a built in cupboard. There is also a family bathroom with a w.c., handbasin and bath with shower over.
Outside the front garden is hard landscaped and enclosed with shrubs and hedging and there is a path to the front door set beneath a pretty archway covered with climbers. The rear garden enjoys a high degree of privacy and is laid to lawn with a terrace adjacent to the house; there is a second patio at the far end, where there is a shed and a gate leading to the parking area.
Owls Close is a private road run by a management company. Service charges are currently set at £50 a month.
Whittlesford is an enormously popular historic village. It is far enough away from Cambridge to be peaceful but close enough to offer an easy commute and has a good range of local facilities. Junction 10 of the M11 is only about a mile away and on the outskirts of the village is its mainline railway station, Whittlesford Parkway, which offers services to Cambridge and London Liverpool Street and makes the village an excellent base for commuting down to London.
Within the village there is a post office and shop, The Tickell Arms pub and restaurant and The Bees in the Wall pub. There is also The Red Lion Inn and a hotel by the railway station. The village has various societies, clubs and sports teams and an OFSTED ‘Good’ primary school that feeds to the OFSTED ‘Good’ Sawston Village College.
