1 Whittlesford Road is centrally located next to the village green and park and is set back from the road beyond a delightful cottage garden with a box hedge and mature tree. Its position is very convenient for access to the city centre, M11 and nearby train station.
The cottage is full of character with the sitting room having exposed wooden flooring, painted ceiling timbers and a feature fireplace. The kitchen/dining room is fitted with a good range of units an oven, grill and hob. There is a washing machine, dishwasher and fridge also.
From the kitchen there is a door to the rear porch, which has doors to the garden with side access and steps down to the cellar.
The first floor has two double bedrooms and a three-piece bathroom.
The rear garden is fully enclosed, mainly paved for low maintenance with mature trees and flower/shrub beds.
Newton is a lovely, smaller village about 3.5 miles south of Cambridge. The village is popular with those looking for a location that is close to the City and major road links (M11, J11, 3 miles), but far enough out to be more peaceful and unspoilt by recent development.
There are mainline railway stations at Whittlesford (4 miles, London Liverpool St c. 75 mins) and Royston (9 miles, London Kings Cross c. 50 minutes).
Within the village there is an excellent family-owned and run local pub, a recreation ground, cricket ground with an active local club, a Sports and Social club and various local clubs and societies. Harston and Newton Primary School (OFSTED ‘Good’) is in neighbouring Harston, about a mile away.
